Our sewing patterns are available in A4 and US letter formats for home printing, and in A0 size for professional printing.
Our patterns are PDF with layers. This system allows you to print only the sizes you want and thus save ink. To do this, open your file in Acrobat Reader and display the layers. Check the desired size(s), without unchecking the first box which contains all the information. Then click on "File" and "Print".
When the pattern has several variations (of length, shape…), we have, as far as possible, arranged the parts in such a way that you can print only the necessary parts. The different versions are numbered (A1, A2, A3…) as opposed to the common pieces, or simply identified by their names (e.g. shirt collars).
For A4 and letter size printing, refer to the assembly plan on page 2, locate the desired parts and print the corresponding pages.
Whatever the file format, it’s essential to print it to the right scale. To do this, click on "File" then "Print". Activate "Auto" for the orientation, and "Actual size" or "100%" in the settings to keep the size of the pattern when printing. Print only the page of the pattern with the test square on it. Measure it: it should be exactly 3x3cm (3/16”x3/16”).
If you have any problems with your printer (of scaling or offset), we recommend you to go to a professional printer. Each pattern is carefully examined, printed and assembled in A4 format to ensure that everything is to scale.
The printer will have to print the file at full size (100%), centering the page on the A4 sheet. Ask him to print the first sheet or the one with the 3x3cm test square to check the scale before printing the remaining pages.
Once your pages are printed in real size, you will have to assemble them to get the whole sheet and cut the pieces. These pieces will then be placed on the fabric following the cutting plan in the booklet.
Cut out the left and top borders of every sheet, following the frame line as precisely as possible to avoid any shift. Tape or glue the pages together, placing the left edge (cut) along the right edge of the frame of the previous page, aligning the center marks (page 2 on 1, 3 on 2, and so on). Do the same from top to bottom.
Note: You do not always need to assemble the whole sheet. Refer to the assembly instructions on page 2 and locate the isolated pieces so that you only have to assemble several groups of pages together.
All our patterns are custom made. Take the time to align the sheets to avoid any shift.
